CEO of Messe Dusseldorf China Ltd.

In 1990s, I was the Chairman of Sales Marketing Executive Club under Hong Kong Management Association, and participated in the drafting of then Hong Kong SAR Basic Law and in the organization and appraisal of Award for Marketing Excellence in Hong Kong.

In June 2001, Messe Düsseldorf China Ltd. (MDC), a joint venture co-invested with Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, started its official operation, and set up its own sales and service network all over China in short several years, which has now expanded from Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, to Chongqing and Shenyang, meanwhile the staff member has also grown from less than twenty to over sixty. Both MDC's outbound exhibition business and inbound exhibition projects have witnessed unprecedented successes, among which All in Print China has been approved by UFI (Union of International Fairs) at its second edition, and becomes one of the leading printing events in China; while wire & Tube China has grown to be the world No.2 event in the industry. The acquisition of Chinaplas shares has also turned out as a successful example of acquisition in the fair industry.

With respect to the future exploration of exhibition business, Mr. Fung sticks to the “3-win” sustainable development strategy, and organize trade fairs by incorporating “multi-media” technologies to increase the value of exhibition itself. For enterprise management, I believe in such philosophies as “Human Oriented”, “Customer First”, and “Focusing on People and Professionalism”. In his view, exhibition is a “Hard Media”, while the further growth of exhibition is a “hard truth”.
