On January 10th, the Certification Ceremony for the 34th and 35th Certified Exhibition Managers (CEM) and the 3rd and 4th Certified International Events Professionals (CIEP) took place at the 19th China Expo Forum for International Cooperation (CEFCO 2024). Li Qingshuang, Vice Chairperson of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and Marsha Flanagan, President and CEO of IAEE, presented the certificates to the representatives of the participants.

The CEM training program is globally recognized and the certification is jointly issued by IAEE and CCPIT, regarded as the highest symbol of professional management knowledge, capabilities, and standards for MICE professionals worldwide. To date, the CEM training program has been successfully conducted 35 times in China. A total of 1,616 participants from over 300 exhibition-related organizations from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau have passed the assessments and obtained the certificates, accounting for more than 42% of the global participants. It has played an increasingly important role in international exchange and talent development in the MICE industry.

The CIEP training program, initiated by CCPIT and jointly organized with IAEE, focuses on high-end professional training in conferences for the Chinese MICE industry. This program plays a significant role in enhancing the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and promoting the professionalization of international conference practitioners. As of the end of 2023, four sessions of CIEP training have been successfully conducted in China, with 260 participants from Chinese MICE tourism companies, and related industry associations passing the assessments and obtaining the certificates.
